What could be nicer than slipping into panties in the hot, steamy summer months? Enter Refine, a new London-based label inspired by the classic sweet-nothing of former Net-a-Porter publisher Anina Hée. "I really wanted to do something that is resistant to trends because that's how I shop. I wouldn't buy anything that didn't last longer than one season," says the Swiss-born designer, who has his own closet with discreetly chic pieces by The Row and Khaite. "The panties have been a staple for decades and still are today."

The Refine debut collection was inspired by fashion icons of the 90s such as Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and the Prada catwalk and offers six luxurious leisure styles, including a particularly seductive, diagonally cut dress with calf adjustment and a high-waisted skirt made from heavy silk satin and crepe de Chine, woven and dyed in Italy. "I'm very aware of the quality," says Hée of the "built-to-last" line, which starts at $ 200. “My mother always told us children when we bought something: 'Check where it is made! '“For this purpose, the fabric that defines the silhouette has a calming charisma (in other words, the new slip dresses wipe the body rather than stick to it). "It flatters all these different body types and is so beautifully draped," she says.

The range of the brand is just as carefully considered: In addition to the black and white tones offered all year round, a handful of limited special tones such as dark chocolate, sea water blue and a single ditsy floral print are offered in seasonal change. Also on offer? Au Courant padded headbands and voluminous hair ties ensure that no precious piece of silk is left behind. Hée says: "It's an easy way to reuse leftover fabrics."
